Cooking bash at Przegubowiec

It was unavoidable! One day we knew it would happen... a cooking day! Since I got here in Poland I wondered how I would survive only eating fried eggs, instant macaroni and frozen pizza. My roommate from Holland (Tjeerd) cookies really good, but he says he's only a hobbist, not a chef! - Fact: He has a really good cooking book written by a famous British cooker(I forgot his name now).
Since back then, Tjeerd tried to break my laziness and make me go to the kitchen. He even gave me a polish cooking book as a desperate attempt to make me feel motivated to cook because he knows I love everything labeled as "from Poland" :P - So, when I finally decide to cook something, Kay, as a coincidence, invited everyone to cook Italian food with her (she used to work on a Italian restaurant).
My attempt was to cook a pork with some special sauce, served with rice. Humm... as Alisha loves pork meat, she helped me to find the proper ingredients to make it. The recipe was:

(Kotlety Wieprzowe, Duszone w Czerwonym Winie)

4 boneless pork loin steaks
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup minced onion
1 cup mushrooms, sliced
1 tablespoon raisins
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup red wine

Brown the steaks in oil, then remove from skillet. Saute the onion and mushrooms until golden in the drippings. Return the steaks to the pan, add the remaining ingredients, cover, and simmer for an hour or more.

It tasted really good and made me feel a bit proud of myself. Being a chef is not a mission impossible.

Weekend in the hills

Hej people, new adventures in the hills, haha!! All the AIESEC trainees from @AE went to the hills for a very pleasant weekend!

Fortunately weather was really good! very sunny but cold! (Temperature went around +1 degree at night, according to my body termometer, maybe less). Even walking in the shade I couldn't wear my jacket, it was too sunny and besides, I was climbing and carrying heavy stuff (bananas, bread and cherry coke), I think that made me feel warm enough. I really missed my backpak, everyone was using shoulders to carry stuff, except me! :P
maybe next time.

Who also came:
  • Tjeerd (photo)
  • Kay
  • Alisha
  • Luis
  • Miki
  • Riina
  • Mili
  • Anton
  • Ekaterina
  • Masaruuu

On saturday 13th, we took a bus to Sobótka city (50min ride) and then 2 hours climbing (carrying stuff) - there were 2 hills, he had to climb the smaller one first and then climb the bigger one to the top, whereas we'd booked our rooms. 1 more detail to be added: no shower in the hostel! We knew it
since the beggining so we were prepared to be stinky as hell :P

After seizing an amazing sunset from the top of the hill, Tjeerd set up the fire whereas a BBQ was about to start. Later on, no one had good scary stories to tell, so we ended-up having a lot of fun playing "Mafia" by the fire. I'd never did it before, but I liked so much! Tjeerd could convince Alisha so easily that he was not member of mafia even after great and obvious evidences... haha!

In the morning, Kay helped everyone to wake up by making noise and by switching on the lights, I helped her by putting some heavy music because I'm always carrying my mp3 player and my speakers! (can't live without the music... you all know that...LOL). Anton woke up and started drink beer! yeah! truly russian dude!

Amazing sunset:

After all, journey back to our beloved Wrocław (Miasto Spotkań), and planning the next weekend! :)

Random fun?

Having a great time in Poland has become a routine, everytime there's a party, everytime there's a new theme event, everytime new music on my mp3 player and nothing better than one day after another! Trying to make 'today' be better than 'yesterday' and so on... that's the carpe diem lifestyle. As you can notice, nothing gets me down even if I got my pants a bit damaged (suddenly and with no reason). Best of all, I dont even care about silly jokes about this! hahahaha!! It didn't happened because of the "pizza picante" -- LOL!

Today (October, 5th) is an important date for me and for my roommate Tjeerd, because we arrived in Wroclaw exactly 1 month ago, and it also can be used as an excuse to celebrate (hardly). Everything here is so intense... full speed or nothing! For tonight we still don't know where to go, will figure it out randomly and spontaneously later... deciding our fates by rolling the dices... :P

Last week a brazilian bash took place here, lead by Luis and I. First, a brazillian powerpoint presentation and lots of caipirinha afterwards and candies. I had a music CD of a typical band from my city. And those songs were heard throughout the rooms of the Akademia Economiczna (or School of Economics). Mili helped us by painting everybody's faces with the colors of Brazil, and she won a cupuacu candy as a reward for that! :)

Let's celebrate life, friendship, let's seize every precious moment we have, let's make life worth! Split sky, part sea, shoot the sign, because our lives are getting shorter while our memories becoming larger. ;)

Sunny day at the Zoo!

Wroclaw has a very nice zoo!! And best of all: I finally saw the white tiger again!! Last time I've seen one of it was in 1998. :)

Who also came to the Zoo:

Luis #1(Brazil)
Luis #2(Guatemala)

That zoo is really cool, it has also a 'mini-zoo' whereas we can touch younglings, but on the other hand, that place is really stinky. I don't think it is their fault, every zoo smells like elephant shit.

For the first time I saw an armadillo! and when I was a kid, my father used to fright me, saying: "Run away Nano! the armadillo is gonna get ya" -- I tried to make some footage of the armadillos, but they were more worried about reproducing its specie than striking a pose. LOL.

Armadillo ("Tatu" in portuguese)

Alisha was lost and she called Kamilita to help her to get to the zoo, but she couldn't help and she gave the telephone to Luis, but he's a brazillian dude and doesn't know the city very well, also couldn't help her! Afterwards Luis was pissed off saying:

- Why me??
- I don't know how to explain!!
- I'm new in town!!

Hahaha!! I got that on camera:

Finally, she arrived 3h later, and complaining a lot about the smell. LOL! Ok ok!! We know! Look at her just after her arrival:

Oooh!! So cute, BUT LATE! :P

And here I have some more photos (click to see full size):

Oh, and also some videos:
